Week One: The first week was honestly discouraging. Caleb seemed calmer, but there were no changes in his speech.
Week Two: Instead of just pointing and making frustrated noises, Caleb was trying to communicate. "Water" instead of just "wah." "More" instead of just reaching and grunting.
Week Four: Just near the end of this week came a moment that I'll never forget when I was tucking Caleb into bed.
He looked up at me and clearly said, "I love you, Mama."
Three words. A complete thought. Expressed perfectly.
I burst into tears right there in his bedroom. All those months of worry and guilt washed away in an instant. After two years of silence, hearing him find his voice was overwhelming in the best possible way.
